  • The 1966 Ford Mustang has a 331 stroker engine, Edelbrock Performer heads and intake, 650 Holley, and an electronic ignition. A solid lift cam was also chosen for the high rpm durability and of course that no nonsense sound they produce. It put out 300 rear wheel horsepower and 310 ft. lbs. of torque and was backed by a Tremec TKO 5-speed. A nine inch Ford rear with 4:10 gears put the power on the track. The new engine required them to upgrade the brakes to 13 inch front discs and 12 inch rear discs. Lexan windows, a Kirkey racing seat, Autometer gauges, Griffin aluminum radiator, some Shelby fiberglass parts and a quick steering kit found their way into the little coupe.
